Veg in SoLa
July 3, 2008 – 10:18 amSo my posts will be sparse for a while, as I am traveling. But I did want to make a quick update on being veg in South Louisiana. We go down every summer for a big family reunion of sorts, which is 9 days long and catered (sortof). I was expecting not to find eats at the dining hall. But lo and behold, I found a bunch of MacDougall-ized vegans! We combined forces and lobbied to get some veg options, which sometimes worked. I was happy, both to find vegans in So.La., and to be able to eat communally with folks I consider family. We did buy a bunch of fruit and veg at Super Walmart (the only option in that area) for morning smoothies and snacking. But overall, it wasn’t as bad as I had thought.
