Thoughts on Spain

August 5, 2008 – 2:09 pm

Here are a few of my impressions/observations about Spain:

the mullet has (very unfortunately) been revived.  It still isn’t pretty.
MC Hammer pants also revived, tweaked, and still not pretty.
food = bad, unimaginative, bland, boring, I’m so glad I’m home eating purple hull peas and collard greens.
everyone smokes everywhere.
the women are, very glamorosas. They wear pretty dresses, and un-sensible shoes, and they Acessorize (very refreshing coming from the fashion-desert of Iowa)
olives are spectacularly wonderful.  olive oil too.
folks in general aren’t overly friendly.  I think I heard the word welcome one time; and that was from a Greek guy.

I’m a pretty slow processor, so more thoughts to come later; along with photos from a handful of veg restaurants we found.
