NuFu

I had a fun opportunity to try Sunergia’s new peanut-based tofu.  I love tofu, but I rarely eat it due to soy-sensitivity; so I am very excited that someone is coming up with an alternative.  I got a block of the Hickory Herb, and the Sesame Ginger (haven’t tried the sesame one yet).  To get a good idea of the flavor, I just pan-browned it a bit, and we ate it with rice and gravy.  It was good, with a slightly-nutty flavor and good soft texture, although I was wishing that it was plain.  The overly-herbiness of it limits its usefulness to me.  For a soy-free vegan, peanut tofu is a happy thing, but if it were plain I could use it in all kinds of things.  At any rate I think Sunergia should be rewarded for thinking out of the box on this, so when it arrives in stores, pick up a block and let em know what you think.
