Lettuce! (and strawberries) (photo)
June 11, 2008 – 3:13 pmLast night we had our very first supper of lettuces (yes, each of us, a huge bowl of salad) from our garden. It was nourishing, rewarding, and fulfilling. We are starting small with gardening, being beginners, but feel good about the small contribution we are making to our food supply and the larger impact that has.
We’ve also been chowing down on veggies from our local farmer’s market – YUM! How great is it to give our money directly to the farmer who sweated in the sun to cultivate this food!
Additionally, we are enjoying strawberries from our patch in the back yard. And looking forward to broccoli, onions, cucumbers, and more…
