It’s almost over…

I have never been so glad to see the end of a presidential race.  Granted, I’m not that old, but I’m not that political either.  Tomorrow night we are going to an election party, and I will drink a big glass of wine in celebration, not of a winner or a loser, but of the thing’s being done with.

Incidentally, if you are of the faith-in-God persuasion, you may be interested in this free (this week) downloadable album by Derek Webb.  I have listened to a lot of faith-based music, and I have rarely come across a musician willing to address social justice issues, that verge on politicalism, but ultimately ask poignant, and sometimes painfully on-point questions about how we integrate our faith and our politics.  He doesn’t mention any animal or environmental issues, which I would have liked to hear, but he is asking what I consider to be the right questions about how to live.  As Webb reminds us, “Love is not against the law.”
